“The Folk Trail” Leslie Paul.  (Guersnsey, 1929). This was the first handbook for Woodcraft Folk leaders. It is an invaluable resource for this period.

“The Republic of Children” Leslie Paul.  (Woking, 1938). This was a more considered piece of writing by the more mature Paul. For recreation purposes it was again invaluable for ideas on food menus, equipment, games and activities.

“The Green Company” Leslie Paul. (London, 1931) This book was specifically aimed at a Pioneer, rather than an adult audience.

“Angry Young Man” Leslie Paul  (London, 1951) This is an autobiographical book that tells the story of the origins of the Woodcraft Folk from Paul’s later perspective.

“Make and do the Woodcraft Way” JG Cone (London,1952) This book was extremely useful for designs of tents.

“Woodcraft Wisedom” JG Cone. (London, 1952) This book also includes useful help on designing and making tents for canvas.

“We are of one blood”. An oral history of the Woodcraft Folk, including lots of photographs.

“Fashioning a New World” Mary Davies. (London, 2002) This book set up thematically is the first serious study of the Woodcraft Folk by an academic.

“Yesterday's Britain: The Illustrated Story of How We Lived, Worked and Played in This Century” Reader’s Digest. (London,1998). An excellent illustrated resource that covers all the decades earlier in this century.
