Reliving our History
About The Project Our 1930s Camp Woodcraft Folk History Resources

“The making of the website and video was fun and enjoyable for all.”- Peter

Video

One aspect of the project was the recording of it from commencement until its conclusion. This led to hours of footage that then had to be edited down to 15 minute film that would tell the story of the project.

An earlier film was shot in the summer of 2004. This captured a contemporary summer camp and was intended to potentially juxtapose to the footage of the recreation camp or actual footage shot in the 1930’s.Venturers working on the video

The film of the project was edited over a weekend using the support and guidance of a mentor who was experienced in the use of Adobe Premier Element. The editing process was co-operative, including all the young people involved in the project who attended the weekend.

“The making of the website was really fun because I got to make the temporary front page.”- Christy

The design and launch of a website was another aspect of the project. This was somewhat more involved than the video project. The site includes material on “how to” and material that is more impressionistic.

The website was designed over a weekend in Brighton using Dreamweaver software. Laptops and desktops were used to type up the text, scan and download images. The site design was facilitated by an experienced website designer.
