My Experience of the project - Ruby

I enjoyed the history camp. And it will go down in history!

I liked playing the games as I was amazing at puttocks and stilling sticks - it's true, I swear! The first night we had to put the tents up in complete darkness (ok I lie - we did have torches) which was annoying but they were quite easy to put up. The second day was fun - we played archery and then played games, later that night we had a fire and we all sang songs which was nice because during the day we weren’t always together.

The last day was ok I suppose, we had to pack and put down the tents and put all the equipment that we took back into the van. When we was nearly ready to leave we heard that we would be getting back by public transport(train) as that’s what they would have done in the 1930’s so we were all like "noooo!" Thinking that we had to take our entire luggage, but then found out we didn’t so we were all up for it.

It was six miles to the train station but it was a good walk it wasn’t that tiring. It was almost the same kind of experience as the people in the 1930’s would have had except they would have had their entire luggage. Then we all ran to the toilet!

The Food was good - not the same as when your mother makes it, but it was edible. We had most food that we eat today but we weren’t meant to take veggie food but as some people in the group were vegetarians we had to take it otherwise they would not eat for the whole weekend!

The best bit of the camp was the tents we stayed in as we made them by hand - and I am not lying!
