Reliving our History
About The Project Our 1930s Camp Woodcraft Folk History Resources

My Experience of the project - Hazel

I enjoyed the camp; I found it interesting and educational as well as fun. We made it as 1930’s as possible by only eating what they would then, by playing games and doing activities that they would then, we made tents and slept in them the same as the tents they stayed in then.

The food was practically then same as the food i eat today but we weren’t allowed basic things like peanut butter (which is lucky because i don’t like it anyway). All the hot food we made we had to cook over the fire, which must have been fun for the leaders (haha).

I enjoyed the activities and games we played they were very fun and a highlight of the day, its strange to think they used to play the same games as us just with different names.

I liked having Helen from the ‘Heritage lottery fund’ there to see what woodcraft folk is about and to talk to us about our history project.
